by now you must have heard that it's raining like the bejesus in new england and that those of us who drove through the pounding rain to hopkinton, NH for the NHSW are insane.
but what's a little rain? this was my first ever fiber festival and i wasn't going to miss it. the girls would be there. j was coming. and i had on my slicker.
incredibly, i didn't spend too much. i bought soap and some pretty fiber for practicing on my spindle.
but overall damage was minimal (if you don't count the fried dough and beer i bought j in exchange for his agreeing to be our sherpa).
j and i spent some time visiting the animals. the alpacas were hard to photograph. every time i was about to take a shot of their expressive faces they would show me their asses. the goats moved too quickly which made it hard to get a clear shot in the low light. but i did manage to catch this little blue eyed angora.
but this little girl (i guess, i really don't know, but s/he seemed like a girl) wanted me to pay attention to her. she baaaa'd her little heart out so that we'd stop and look and admire her.
before heading home, j and i met up with wendy and rob, elisa and mike, carole and dale, kellee, debbie and kat for some margaritas and dinner. i'm not saying more. what happens in concord, stays in concord.
What a heartbreaker that sheep is. ;-)

I got some roving from the same woman. In fact, I probably fondled those same balls. [add that to the list of dirty things said in the presence of wool]

You know, I don't say this very often, but that's a really cute sheep.

Oh, it looks like it was a lot of fun, even soggy!
I got a few good bunny and llama pictures at our local fiber festival. I didn't brave the sheep & goat barn in the rain, tho.

There were so many cute baby type animals. Sigh...I hope they didn't need an ark to get home.
It was great to hang out with you and J on Saturday - and please give my thanks to J for not giving me that "she's totally insane" look for doing an "I just bought fiber" dance.

Great critter pictures! In spite of the weather, it sounds like everyone had a great time in NH. Let's hope it dries out for Cummington.

Oh. My. God. That little lamb is so freaking cuuuuuuuuuute! I just want to smooch her little nose. Couldn't you have had J smuggle it our of there for you? He was wearing a coat, he could have just tucked it in there.
That blue-eyes Angora goat is kind of sexy in a baaaa-d way. Oops, I've said too much. You're right, that kind of salty talk about farm animals needs to stay in Concord. ;)
Mentioning soap and looking at your practice fiber made me think of felting soap. Have you tried it? I think I need to give that a go. Imagine groping wool to get your hands clean . . .

Insane, but happy! Good to see you and J!
