so it's march. and i can't remember if it came in like a lion or not. it's been pretty chilly around these parts (hitching up of pants) these past few days -- probably colder than it's been all winter -- but it's been sunny, and snow has been minimal. is that lamb? or lion? no idea.
a lot of bloggers think of march as the beginning of the end with the 21st being the official first day of spring. but here in new england, that's a big fat lie. because march can suck as much as february if not worse. and there are more days of march. the only advantage of march over february is that the days are longer.
another advantage of march ... is that it's the start of Project Spectrum.....*angels singing* ...Lolly's brain child. when she announced her project, i pounced. i'm obsessed with color to the point of not being able to pick a favorite, wearing colors that look like ass on me, just because i can't say no, and laboring over every large decorating decision because i want to make sure that everything goes with everything. it's quite stressful really.
case in point. look at the projects i choose to work on...
and look at what i end up buying because i can't just pick one color ....
[that's malabrigo that i picked up during the semi-annual knitter's breakfast at the fabric place in framingham on saturday. i ran into kathy and kerstin and had a wonderful time with them. but can i just say that 90% of the knitters who come to those breakfasts are whacked?!!! and not whacked in a good way either. they'll wrestle you to the ground for a piece of cold quiche and will resort to crying should someone take their "saved" seats. i was a little embarrassed for them. it was sad.]
anyway, i've got some ideas for projects. i'll keep you posted.
Geez!! I haven't been to the Fabric Place in so many years!!! WOW! Had no idea they carried such nice yarn!

So, when are you gonna spill? It looks like some beautiful stuff.

Wow, that sounds pretty bad.
And in MA, I guess that IS a lamb.

Mmmmm... Malabrigo. Lovely!
Hmm, it sounds like you have the perfect plot for a murder mystery there. :)

Major Malabrigio Haul! I have not yet indulged but maybe in time....
Some people are so crazy! I have seen that whack behavior at yard sales (I get my kids clothes at yard/consignment sales--all the Gap Kids you would ever need at Wal-mart prices!) and I have seen people push and fight over stuff, one woman who took EVERYTHING off the rack in her kids size and spent 7 hours sorting through it--I know, I asked the people working and she does it EVERY YEAR. Clothing does not need that much attention in my book--and your taste is different from others, what is ugly to you is a treasure to another.

Oooo! Whatcha gonna make with the Malabrigo? Huh? Huh?...

Didn't even know. We bloggers should mass at those things and teach those girls a thing or two about a good way to be whacked.

Mmmm ... Malabrigo!!! I've been fondling the hot pink Malabrigo in my local FP (in Woburn). I keep telling myself that March is no time to be thinking of making a warm wooly sweater... we'll see how long I can keep myself convinced of that!

Fun to see you! I agree -- many of those knitters were totally nuts!

Geez, now I'm sort of glad I totally forgot about Fabric Place on Sat am. Sat was laundry day, anyway, and I didn't have anything decent enough to wear to leave the house.

Looks like you scored with the yarn! And that's cool that you ran into Kathy and Kerstin, too. I totally agree with you on March. And let's not forget - March has no 3 day weekends to help ease the pain, either.
