it's done! my random log cabin. this bugger ended up being 60 x 57 inches and was made up of 16 squares. i used 9 different colors, 5 variegated, 1 solid, and 3 "heathered," and each square was made up of 5 different colors. unfortunately i didn't have a "plan" until halfway through knitting the squares so it didn't turn out EXACTLY like i would have wanted. but it's done. and it's warm. and it's actually prettier in person. and i think my friends will like it.
2 more projects to finish before the 10th. since this one was the big one, i think i can do it.
Wow, Maryse! That's gorgeous. I love it. And as someone who has worked on a modular pattern, the Crayon Box Jacket, I can only stand back and whistle at the amazing work you did in completing a whole afghan with mitered squares. Great job! I hope your friends love and cherish this beautiful gift.

OMG! what yarn did you use? where can I find the pattern? it's STUNNING. (if your friend doesn't want it? it can have a warm home right here in Colorado).

Amazing. I can only imagine how fiddly all those little strips were to knit and assemble.

Very, very nice. All that sewing up would crush a lesser crafter (ie me).

Congratulations on finishing that afghan. I hope that your friends enjoy it. It's gorgeous, and one of the few knitted blankets that I have seen where I think "Hmmm, I want one." Lovely work!
