i'm THIS close to being disqualified for being a dope. yesterday i knitted up the first fair-isle section of the scarf (78 stitches on size 2 needles for 8 inches using approximately 18 different colors of 1 strand of needlepoint yarn). so very pretty, but oh so wrong. like competing in the biathalon, but instead of shooting the target, i shot my own foot (not another competitor, mr. vice president, BECAUSE THAT WOULD BE TRULY WRONG) or skied in the wrong direction while spectators screamed "turn around!!!!" yes, the worse part about it, is that it felt wrong from the beginning. but i blindly carried on. dope.
i didn't bother taking a picture of my "unprogress." hopefully i can make up some time today.

So sorry that happened. Waaahh. But in true Olympic spirit, you will carry on.

Well, for me it's not a real project unless I have to rip out a big chunk of it at least once. Now you're really committed to getting it right... right? :-)

What went wrong? I'm still afraid of fair isle.
BTW, My hubby and I watched some biathalon, but didn't understand it. It looks fascinating though.

Well sonofabitch.
Just a bump in the road to Olympic glory. Knit on.

I can't remember the number of times I've done the same thing... Knowing something was wrong, yet blithely knitting away for ages before finally admitting the problme... Here's to forward progress!
